WhatsPlay is a small daily-games service played over WhatsApp. This page explains what we store and why, in plain words.

What we store

  • Your WhatsApp phone number. We need it to reply to you. It is stored separately from your game record and is never shown on any web page, put in any link, or sent to analytics tools.
  • Your WhatsApp profile name, if WhatsApp shares it, so we can show your initials in admin tools. We do not receive or store profile photos.
  • The messages you send us and our replies, so the game works and so we can fix problems. Message text is deleted after 90 days; your results are kept.
  • Your game results: which puzzles you played, how many clues you used, your streak.
  • Challenge links you create and whether they led to new players. The link itself contains only a random code.
  • Reminder preferences, only if reminders are offered and you explicitly opt in.

What we do not do

  • We never message you first unless you have explicitly asked for reminders. Reply STOP at any time and we will only ever answer messages you send.
  • We never message your contacts. Sharing is something you do yourself by forwarding a message.
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. Messages are delivered through our WhatsApp Business provider, which processes them on our behalf.
  • We do not use your messages to train any model.

Challenge pages

When someone opens a challenge link we record that a visit happened and whether it came from a phone or a computer. We do not store IP addresses or browser fingerprints for these visits.

Deleting your data

Message hello@whatsplay.games from the address you would like us to reply to, telling us the WhatsApp number you play from. We will delete your player record, messages, results and challenge links, and confirm when done. Aggregate statistics (for example how many people solved a puzzle) do not identify you and are kept.

Retention

Message contents: 90 days. Challenge page visits: 180 days. Game results and streaks: until you ask us to delete them.
